Baba Yaga the Witch

Baba Yaga is an infamous witch in Slavic folklore. She rides through the air in her mortar, steering with a pestle and sweeping up her tracks with a broom.  She lives in a house built on chicken legs.  Baba Yaga appears in all three stories "The Firebird," "Kosschay the Deathless" and "Baba Yaga the Witch."

The Gray Wolf

Although he has a fierce appearance, the Gray Wolf is very helpful and loyal. His shape-shifting ability makes him a formidable ally. He possesses deep spiritual and magical knowledge.

Princess Vassilisa

Daughter of King Vyslav and the youngest of his three children, Princess Vassilisa is brave, daring, and clever. She manages to overcome many treacherous trials in her hunt for the fabulous Firebird.

Prince Ivan

The strawberry blonde Prince Ivan is much sought after by queens and princesses from many lands.  He is gentle and sincere, but he manages to show his valor in the exciting conclusion of "The Firebird."

The Queen of Dawn

The greedy Queen of Dawn wants to keep Prince Ivan all for herself. She is even willing to give up her Horse with the Golden Mane in order to secure the Prince's hand in marriage.
